My second new recipe of the year was baked mostaccioli. I love pasta but usually don’t make pasta bakes because they take more time and one of the things I like about pasta is that it doesn’t take a lot of time to make.
The recipe was really simple – just pasta, canned sauce, and shredded cheese. Preheat the oven, cook and drain the pasta, mix in the sauce and half the cheese, put in a baking dish, spread the rest of the cheese on top and bake for about 30 minutes.
While I liked the chicken pot pie that I made more last week, this made a good meal and because it’s meant to feed like eight people, I have plenty of leftovers which I have packaged away into smaller meals to eat during the week. Actually, this tasted better to me reheated then it did when it first came out of the oven. Go figure.
The full recipe can be found at $5 dollar dinners.
